Shri Krishna Janmashtami
The supreme festival of Mathura. Midnight divine abhishek at Shri Krishna Janmasthan, 24-hour devotional kirtans, and the following morning’s joyful Nandotsav where curd, milk, and coins are distributed among ecstatic devotees.
World Famous Braj Ki Holi
A 10-day extravaganza celebrated nowhere else on earth: Barsana Lathmar Holi, Nandgaon Holi, Phoolon Ki Holi (Flower Holi) at Bankey Bihari, Widow's Holi at Gopinath Mandir, and Huranga at Dauji Mandir.
Guru Purnima (Mudiya Poono)
Over 5 million pilgrims converge upon Govardhan to circumambulate Giriraj Hill in memory of saint Sanatana Goswami. The entire 21 km route comes alive with spontaneous singing, community kitchens (bhandaras), and lanterns.
Shri Radhashtami
Celebrated 15 days after Janmashtami in Barsana. The deity of Shriji Mandir is bathed in milk, honey, and sacred waters, while thousands of kilograms of sweets (laddoos) are showered upon devotees.
Sharad Purnima (Maha Raas)
The night Lord Krishna played His flute under the full autumnal moon, multiplying Himself to dance with every Gopi simultaneously. At Bankey Bihari Mandir, the deity holds a golden flute and wears a pearl crown (Mukut).
Kartik Maas & Dev Uthani Ekadashi
The holiest month of the Hindu calendar (Damodar Maas). Month-long lamp offerings (Deep Daan) at Yamuna Ghats, daily parikramas, and Govardhan Puja (Annakoot with 56 bhog food mountains).
